A new chapter.

When I started doing hair, almost 30 years ago, I had no idea the journey it would take me on.  The idea that you could do something that was so much fun and get paid for it was lost on 26 year old me.  I do not take that for granted.

The relationships I have built are priceless.  I was there when you told me you were finally pregnant.  I was there for the divorce.  I helped you grow your hair out for your wedding, and years later when we shaved it off when you started chemo.  I gave your kid their first “real” haircut.  I fixed your bangs when you were convinced you could cut them yourself.   I talked you out of cutting it all off when he dumped you.   I was probably the only person that could tell you it was time to just buzz it all short when the bald spot finally won.   The funerals.  The weddings.  The tragedies and the laughs.  I remember and cherish them all.

It’s time for a new chapter.

I will be stepping away from behind the chair at the end of this year.   I am not going anywhere, but with an entirely new location, and a team that’s grown to over 40 people, I need to be more present in a leadership role.   I also want to focus on another passion of mine, our product line.

You are in good hands. In fact it may be a bit refreshing to let one of these young hard charging stylists get their hands on your hair.  I work with the most talented folks in the world.  Reach out if you want to talk.  I can help find you the right chair to sit in.

I appreciate you and the trust you have put in me.  So not “goodbye” more like “see ya around”.
