Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities
Greet customers arriving at the shop and provide them with the information regarding salon services
Answer any service related questions
Determine customers’ need for salon services.
Ensure that customers are handed over to the correct stylist.
Answer telephone calls and provide information to callers
Schedule appointments and make follow up calls to customers to remind them of their appointments
Handle appointment cancellation and rescheduling
Collect payment of services rendered and tender change to customers
Ask customers for feedback on salon’s services and provide assistance with problems or complaints
Endorse retail products that the shop is selling by providing information of benefits
Ensure cleanliness, neatness and sanitization of salon.
Fill in for absent staff members during high volume times
Close register at the end of the shift and ensure that cash flow information has been logged into the salon’s register
Receptionist Job Requirements
Highly skilled in maintaining front desk tasks, answering phones, booking appointments and handling cash drawer
Comprehensive knowledge of maintaining client records and computerized data
Well versed in greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner
Able to maintain a clean and organized salon environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to replenish retail products and assist in inventory processes
Ability to listen actively and speak effectively
Profound social perceptiveness
Proven ability to resolve problems and handle dissatisfied customers
Able to up-sell and stay productive throughout the day
Familiar with most computer skills.
Familiar with most social media applications
Able to work alone and as part of a team
